- Military Training: Hugh joined the United States Military, secretly employing his abilities to specialize in search and rescue missions. Although, he served the Military for only an year, the experience was more than enough to make him a formidable opponent.
- Cunning Intellect: Although his brutish nature coupled with extreme arrogance gives him the appearance of stupidity, Hugh is actually quite intelligent. He routinely hacked into government databases to steal classified information and has escaped the highest levels of incarceration.
- Avid Manipulator: Another note to his intelligence is that Hugh excels at scheming planning and coaxing other into doing his dirty work for him. Often even tricking people to accomplish goals for achieving his own ends.
- Indomitable Will: Hugh will strive to complete his tasks, no matter what it takes.
- Expert-Hand-to-Hand-Combatant: In addition to his proficiency in the use of long-ranged weapons, Hugh had also proven his ability in close-ranged hand-to-hand combat. This was constantly shown by his ability to take down various armed men, even delaying Drake.
- Master Martial Artist: Even without those enhancements his long life has attributed him vast wealth, knowledge, and power. This has allowed him to learn numerous fighting styles over the years making him rival even Kyle in hand-to-hand combat and sword fighting. Trained by the Assassins, Military and his private Sensei; Hugh may not be physically tough but he knows how to control his weight and has stated that he knows, "one thousand ways to kill a man." Hugh's training has made him a formidable hand-to-hand combatant able to defeat or hold his own against multiple opponents, armed opponents or skilled hand-to-hand combatants.

- Super Sight: He can see creatures hiding in other, overlapping, magical planes of existence. He is capable of zooming his vision in on things, allowing him to see distant objects in magnified scale. He is able to see soundwaves, though the appearance may vary. He has the ability to see all major and minor veins of any living being. He can even see them through inanimate objects like trees, concrete , clothes, so on and so on.
